We recognize the difficulty in initiating psychiatric treatment and the many questions and concerns inherent in pursuing such care. Our goal as a clinic is to provide assurance, comfort, and flexibility in what you choose as a patient and to honor what you may desire.


As a medical clinic, our primary role remains pharmacologic treatment of conditions combined with supportive care and therapy. However, we also understand and honor that patients may not desire initial pharmacologic treatment and will pursue treatment accordingly. Regardless, our goal is to improve our patient's mental health and functioning within the scopes of what is acceptable to them.

What to expect when you have decided to contact us

Your initial appointment can be booked directly from the website under Online Scheduling,  direct call to our office at (523)263-5100 or via email at [email protected]


Upon your first contact, you will be asked regarding basic demographic information and a brief reasoning for your contact and whether you have sought psychiatric treatment prior to this. If you choose to call us during business hours (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) you will be greeted by our clinic staff who would be happy to guide you through the whole process and answer any questions. In the event that you reach our voice mail, you can leave us a confidential voice message and in most cases we will be able to return your call within the business day. If you call us close to closing hours or prior to weekend and are unable to reach us, we will return your call the next business day.


During your scheduling, you will be guided to fill some initial paperwork which need to be filled prior to or on your day of appointment. To expedite your check in on the date, it is preferred that you print and fill all documents prior to presenting. However, if this is not possible, you may fill the documents on the date of your appointment with expectation that you arrive 20 minutes prior to your scheduled time for initial evaluation to allow filling of the documentation.

What to expect during the day of your appointment prior to seeing the psychiatrist

On the date of your appointment, please arrive 20 minutes prior to your time. We understand unexpected circumstances may arise but please notify us as soon as possible. We are unable to make accommodations for late appointments without prior notice. 


As you present, you may be seated in the main lobby area. Our goal is to see you as timely as possible but please be aware that on certain circumstances or crisis situations, appointments may run over and in this event, we will do our best to attend to you as soon as possible. We do apologize for any excessive wait time and will do our best to accommodate you without much interruption.


It is expected that you pay for your appointment in full prior to your visit with your psychiatrist.  


What to expect when meeting with your psychiatrist

During an initial evaluation, you will meet Dr. Ziba Rezaee. Please note that all visits with us are entirely confidential, with only several listed exceptions (listed in Policies and Procedures). You may accompany family but you will be asked if we are allowed to talk to them. Under no circumstance can we initiate any collaboration or conversation with any individual without your permission.  If our patient is a minor, then parents and legal guardians will need to consent to all treatment but patient may still be interviewed alone.   Initial evaluation will consist of obtaining details from your past, including medical history, past psychiatric treatments, your current living and social situation, with main focus being the primary reason you are seeking treatment.


Once your history is obtained, Dr. Rezaee will discuss your personal preferences and options in seeking treatment.  Once you are able to come to an agreement on tentative treatment, Dr. Rezaee will discuss with you regarding assessment and plan.  In most cases, Pharmacologic treatment is initiated with consent of patient. If you have any reservations regarding medications please discuss this with your doctor. If medications are not desired, we can initiate psychotherapy or refer out for further specialized treatment. In some cases, prior to initiating any medicines, depending on your pre-existing medical condition, we may order labs or clearance from your primary care physician.


Please take a note that if you have been seen by a former psychiatrist, it may be pertinent and useful for us as your treatment team to obtain past records. We are only able to obtain records and collaborate with individuals and entities that you give us written permission for. Exception to this law is collaboration amongst medical physicians and healthcare providers via phone in obtaining pertinent information in your care; such collaboration is HIPPA protected.   HIPPA laws (described further in Policies and Procedures) protect your privacy and confidentiality and we honor this with utmost regard.  


Once you are seen and treatment has been initiated, you will be scheduled for monthly follow-ups. If your condition is severe or psychotherapy is required,  you may require more frequent follow-ups. Once stable, your appointments may be scheduled every 3 to 6 months.
