Teri Davidson
Teri Davidson grew up in Austin Texas with a passion for making others smile. As a child, she and her parents spent most weekends on Lake Travis where they enjoyed time with the sailing community. After high school, she started her career in Long Term Care as a Nurse Aide and realized she had a deep desire to help the elderly. Life took her in many directions, including working in the Food Industry, a short time as a Preschool Teacher and even with At-Risk youth at a residential treatment facility.
That desire to help the elderly never left her and eventually turned into a collective 20-year career as an Activity Director and later in Sales/Marketing for Memory Care communities. Teri believes that her desire to learn as much as she can about Dementia and how to help those living with it, allowed her to successfully care for her aging mother-in-law in their home, for three years, until she passed. That experience also taught her that no matter how educated or prepared one may be, we all need a strong support system. Lakeway Psychiatry was part of that support system for her mother-in-law, and she was so impressed with the team that when the opportunity came to join it, she did not hesitate.
Teri enjoys cooking, various crafts, fishing, camping and being near any body of water. She and her husband and best friend of 33 years, Reid, have four children, two dogs-Goose and Frodo, and six grandchildren. During their free time, they enjoy working on home improvement projects, gardening, and spending as much time with family as they are able.
Her philosophies in life are to “Do unto others…” and “Above all remain flexible.” Both of those fuel her desire to help each client of Lakeway Psychiatry and Behavior Health get the service and care she would want for herself. When you come to visit, you may very well find her dog Frodo, running around the clinic, ready to cuddle or make you smile.
